Ecotourism was born in the latter half of the 20th century and became the foundation for the creation of sustainable tourism. In this class, we aim to help students understand ecotourism and to have them think about the future of tourism by experiencing actual examples in the regions where ecotourism is practiced.
This lecture will mainly focus on understanding ecotourism from the following three perspectives
1) Background of the birth of ecotourism, its definition, and its development in the world
2) Practical examples of ecotourism in Japan
3) Issues of today's tourism illuminated by ecotourism
Lectures will include lectures by lecturers, study of overseas case studies using DVDs, and lectures on practical examples by guest speakers.

地域づくりや地域資源の保全と活用などに関心を有すること。
授業資料はCanvas LMSで事前に配布し、コメントはGoogle Formで回収します。PCやタブレットなど、授業資料にアクセスできる手段を準備することが望ましいです。
20世紀後半に生まれ、持続可能な観光（Sutainable Tourism）が生まれる基盤となったエコツーリズム。この授業では、エコツーリズムについて理解するとともに、実践地域の実例に触れることにより、これからの観光のあり方について学生自身が考えをもつことができるようになることを目標とする。
Ecotourism was born in the latter half of the 20th century and became the foundation for the creation of sustainable tourism. 本講義は主として次の３つの視点からエコツーリズムについて理解する。
１）エコツーリズム誕生の背景、定義、世界における展開
２）日本におけるエコツーリズムの実践事例
３）エコツーリズムが照射する今日の観光の課題
講義は、講師による講義のほか、DVDを用いた海外事例の研究、ゲストスピーカーによる実践事例の講義などを取り入れて進める。
