1) Understand why tourism policies are important and how they have developed, especially in Japan.
2) Learn about the role of tourism administrations and policies in developing sustainable communities.
1) The initial segment of the lecture will entail a review of the institutions and actors involved in tourism policies. This will be followed by a discussion of the historical evolution of tourism policy in Japan.
2) The subsequent segment will encompass a review of the salient keywords in tourism policies. This will be accompanied by a discussion of overtourism, which has emerged as a pressing issue in tourist cities, and the policy responses to it.

・観光政策の重要性を認識し、特に日本における観光政策の展開について説明できるようになる。
・持続可能な地域づくりに向けた、観光行政と観光政策の役割について理解する。
1) Understand why tourism policies are important and how they have developed, especially in Japan.
2) Learn about the role of tourism administrations and policies in developing sustainable communities.
本講義では、前半部では観光政策にかかる制度や主体を確認しつつ、日本における観光政策の歴史的展開を論じる。
後半部では、観光政策をめぐるいくつかのキーワードを押さえながら、観光成熟都市において取り組むべき重要な都市課題となったオーバーツーリズムと、その政策的対応について論じる。
