This lecture provides the basic knowledges about the rural tourism which utilizes local resources on environment and landscape, and living culture in the rural area and explains its concept and social significance, concrete examples and their business schemes, and the historical context. The final objective is to obtain the ability to consider the task and the solution on business and regional development through the rural tourism.
The rural tourism tends to be considered accompanied with the rural development, so it needs to understand its significance for the area as well as for the tourists. From these both points of view, this lecture explains the basic knowledges to plan and organize rural tourism and mentions the newest examples in order to think about its future. Some guest speakers will be invited to the lecture to specifically expound newest rural tourism practices.

ゲストスピーカーを招へいする予定であり、日程調整の結果により授業計画に多少変更が生じる場合があるが、その場合は初回ガイダンスの際に説明を行う。
農山漁村の環境・景観や生活文化などを資源とする農村観光（rural tourism）について、概念や社会的意義、実際の取組み内容・事業形態、関連する制度や歴史的経緯について理解し、今後の農村観光経営・農村観光地域計画に向けた課題や解決策を考察できる基礎的な知識を習得する。

農村観光は農村振興と連動して考えられるケースが多く、ツーリストにとっての意義と同様に農村地域にとっての意義について理解を深める必要がある。本講義ではこれら両者の視点を踏まえつつ、これからの農村観光をプランニングするための基礎知識を解説するとともに、農村観光にまつわる近年の新たな動きについても触れ、今後の農村観光を展望する。新たな動きについてはゲストスピーカーを招へいして、具体的に解説してもらう予定である。
