Through this class, students will learn and be able to explain the purpose and significance of Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition/Event, their business models, and basic knowledge of their issues.
Also, to understand and be able to explain the positioning of MICE and IR (Integrated Resorts) in the tourism policies of national and local governments, and the differences between leisure travel and business travel.
The lecture will cover the basics of what MICE is, its meaning and role in tourism policy, and the various actors and their respective roles in attracting and holding MICE events.
The lecture will also cover how MICE is related to the development of tourist attractions, IR, and travel that combines business and leisure, etc., so that MICE can be understood from a broader perspective.
The lecture will focus mainly on MICE for business purposes.

ＭＩＣＥを構成するMeeting、Incentive、Convention、Exhibition/Eventの開催目的、開催意義等の特徴やビジネスモデル、それらの課題に関する基本的な知識を学び、説明出来るようになる。
また、国や地方自治体の観光政策におけるＭＩＣＥやＩＲ（統合型リゾート）の位置付けや、レジャートラベルとビジネストラベルの相違等についても理解し、説明出来るようになる。

ＭＩＣＥとはどのようなものなのかの基本的な事項と、観光政策の中でどのような意味・役割があるのか、更にＭＩＣＥの誘致・開催に関わる各主体とそれぞれの役割等について講義する。
その上で、観光地づくり、ＩＲの整備、ビジネスとレジャーが融合した旅行などがＭＩＣＥとどのような関りがあるのか、より広い視点からＭＩＣＥが理解できるよう講義する。
なお、講義では主にビジネス目的のＭＩＣＥを取り扱う。
