【Course Objectives】

The word "hotel" has different meanings and connotations for different people.
Some see it as a place to sleep when traveling, generally as a guest, while others see a hotel as a place of expression and view the space as their own art or architecture.
On the other hand, when hotels are viewed as a business, some recognize them as profitable real estate and make a living investing in them, while others are marketing professionals who are in the business of operating hotel businesses.

In this lecture, we will invite guests who are active on the front lines in the industry, with the goal of learning and understanding the many facets of "hotels" and "being involved with and working in hotels" that are perhaps perceived in a narrow sense.

In addition, through input from the guests and output in the form of discussion, the goal of this class is to create your own ideas about "learning" and "career" in the Faculty of Tourism.

【Course Contents】

Mori Trust Hotels & Resorts, which develops and operates a wide range of hotels and resorts throughout Japan, has invited guest speakers who are active in various fields such as real estate, opening new hotels, marketing, etc. They will give lectures and participate in panel discussions on various themes,
We plan to invite guest speakers from Mori Trust Hotels & Resorts, which develops and manages a wide range of hotels and resorts throughout Japan, to give lectures and participate in panel discussions on a variety of topics.

Basically, there will be about 6 sets of sessions, consisting of (1) lectures by guest speakers, panel discussions, and (2) group work based on the topics in (1) above.

The lectures will be given by guest speakers, either online or in person, and will be followed by a panel discussion with the faculty member in charge of the session based on the lectures and questions asked in advance.
As for group work in (2), group work will be conducted based on a specific topic, following the class in (1) held prior to the class.
Through repeated input and output, we expect participants to gain insights in "learning" and "career" that are not bound by fixed concepts.

In the past, we have also organized internships and study tours in the projects and regions where our guest speakers are involved, although they are voluntary members.
