【Course Objectives】

Students will understand the phenomenon of tourism from the perspective of human behavior and psychology mainly in the tourism recreation setting, and will learn specialized knowledge and survey methods that are necessary for tourism research in order to apply that knowledge to tourism recreation planning and service provision settings.

【Course Contents】

Students will learn specific methods for tourism research by reading specialized literature and materials in the above areas and conducting fieldwork. Students will be assigned regular presentations and time will be given for discussion. I plan to hold activities such as fieldwork, camp, etc. outside of class, and as a rule, these activities will be conducted jointly with participants of the instructor’s seminars in other years.
In this class, students will give speeches on themes assigned from the textbook, and in the first half of the course, students will present a plan for an individual research project based on their interests and proceed with the research individually. In the latter half of the course, students will report on the results of their research. At the same time, students will conduct survey analysis work for the seminar camp.
