(1) Touching on the various theories and ideas in the history of philosophy and ethical thought, students will deepen their basic knowledge in the disciplines of "philosophy" and “ethics”.
(2) Students will acquire philosophical / ethical thinking methods, as well as academic writing methods, mainly through the completion of small exercises.
This year, we will be giving lectures on two themes: “Introduction to Philosophy” and “Tourism Ethics”.
The first half of the lecture will introduce major debates in the history of philosophy from ancient to modern times, mainly for students who are new to the study of philosophy. Famous philosophers such as Socrates, Kant, Nietzsche, and Kitaro Nishida, whom you have probably heard of, will appear.
The theme of the latter half of the lecture is “Tourism Ethics,” a new discipline that explores the ideal form of tourism. After reviewing the major theories of ethics, issues of applied ethics such as “environmental ethics” and “business ethics” will be examined from the perspective of tourism, and ethical codes specific to tourism such as the “Global Code of Ethics for Tourism” will also be discussed.
The lectures often refer to subcultures such as anime, manga, video games, and music, which are also of interest to the instructor. I hope that this will spark an interest in philosophy and ethics.

（１）哲学史・倫理思想史上のさまざまな学説・考え方に触れることで，「哲学」・「倫理学」という学問に関する基礎的な知識を学び，理解を深める．（２）課題に取り組むことを通して，哲学的／倫理学的な思考の方法と学術的な文章の書き方を身につける．

今年度は「哲学入門」と「観光倫理学」という二つのテーマで講義を行ないます．
まず前半は，「哲学」という学問にはじめて触れる学生を主な対象として，古代から現代に至る哲学史における主要な議論を紹介していきます．ソクラテス，カント，ニーチェ，西田幾多郎など，おそらくみなさんも聞いたことのある有名な哲学者たちが登場します．
後半のテーマは，然るべき観光のあり方を探る新しい学問である「観光倫理学」です．倫理学の代表的な理論を確認した後，「環境倫理」「ビジネス倫理」などの応用倫理学の問題を観光という視点から検討するとともに，「世界観光倫理憲章」といった観光に固有の倫理規範についても扱います．
担当者の関心もあり，講義では，アニメや漫画，ゲーム，音楽などのサブカルチャーへしばしば言及します．哲学・倫理学への関心をもつきっかけにして欲しいと思っています．
