【授業の目標 / Course Objectives】

本授業は、私たちの属す「自文化・自社会」の同時代的な変動を踏まえた上で、「異文化・異社会」と呼ばれるものが立ち現れてくる経験を概観し、他者との接合可能性を文化人類学の方法論から学び取っていくことを目的とする。それは、自らの置かれた世界、もしくは「自己」というあり方そのものを再定位しながら、絶えず「他性」へと巻き込まれていく動態的でアクロバティックな認識の冒険といってもいい。本講義は、身近な世界（「当たり前」の世界）から、見慣れない聞き慣れない世界までを何度も往還しながら、新たな知覚・認識の地平を切り開こうとする人類学的な世界の見方を身につけていくことを目標とする。

This course aims to survey the experience of encountering what we call “other cultures and societies,” grounded in an understanding of the contemporary shifts within our own culture and society. We will learn, through the methodology of cultural anthropology, how to connect with others. It can be described as a dynamic, acrobatic adventure of cognition, one that involves constantly being drawn into the “otherness” while simultaneously repositioning one's own world or the very nature of the “self.” This lecture aims to cultivate an anthropological perspective that seeks to open up new horizons of perception and understanding by repeatedly traversing from the familiar world (the “taken-for-granted” world) to worlds that are unfamiliar and unheard of.

【授業の内容 / Course Contents】

個別の資料や映像などにも触れながら、「異質なるもの」との邂逅を人類学者たちはどのように処理してきたのか、その理論や実践のあり方を学ぶ。具体的には、文化人類学が好んでテーマとして掲げてきたトピック（コスモロジー、認識論、互酬性、儀礼論、ジェンダー論など）を取り上げ、それらのテーマ上で「他性」との邂逅に揺らぎつつ、自／他の変容を許容する深い思索のプロセスを学んでいく。

While examining specific materials and visual sources, we will explore how anthropologists have processed encounters with the “other,” studying their theoretical approaches and practical methods. Specifically, we will examine topics frequently addressed by cultural anthropology (cosmology, epistemology, reciprocity, ritual theory, gender theory, etc.). Through these themes, we will explore the profound process of reflection that allows for the transformation of self and other while navigating the encounter with alterity.
