We aim to acquire a 'unique' perspective to discover some 'lively' charms and 'exciting' possibilities in your local areas and daily life. We hope that this will be an opportunity for the students to understand that acquiring such a perspective is important in thinking about the future of society without being bound by conventional values, and to reflect on their own way of living and working. This is the goal of this class.
Why are we paying attention to the locality and daily life now? The aim of this course is for each student to search for their own answers to this question. In class, while keeping in mind the drastically changing social situation, rather than living smartly on the given rails, we encourage students to use their own sensibilities to create encounters with people and things one by one, even if awkwardly. The clues are philosophy, design, and 'Mingei'(folk crafts).

地域や日々の暮らしの中に「生き生きとした」魅力や「ワクワクする」可能性を発見する、「自分ならではの」視点の獲得を目指します。そうした視点の獲得が、旧来の価値観にとらわれず、これからの社会のあり方を考える上でも重要であることを理解し、受講生の皆さんがみずからの生き方・働き方を熟考する機会となることがこの授業の目標です。

いまなぜ地域や日常に注目するのか――。受講者ひとりひとりが、自分なりの答えを探るのがこの科目のねらい。授業では、大きく変化しつつある社会状況を念頭に置きつつ、与えられたレールの上をスマートに生きることよりも、ぎこちなくも一つ一つの人や物との出会いを自分たちの感性で創造していくすべを探っていきます。手がかりとされるのは、哲学とデザイン、そうして「民藝」です。
