The goal of this course is to understand the relationship between the natural environment of the Japanese Islands, including topography, hydrology, and climate, and the people who live there.
The lecture will focus on the interaction between humans and the natural environment surrounding the Japanese archipelago, using spatial scales from the global to the regional level. Visual lectures will be given using PowerPoint and Google Earth. Some work will be done using maps to deepen understanding. Discussions with participants on geographic events that can be read from the materials will be included.

日本列島における地形・水文・気候といった自然環境と，そこで生活する人々との関わりを理解することを目標とする．
The goal of this course is to understand the relationship between the natural environment of the Japanese Islands, including topography, hydrology, and climate, and the people who live there.
日本列島を取り巻く自然環境と人間の相互作用について，地球規模から地域レベルまでの空間スケールを交えて講義する．パワーポイントやGoogle Earthなどを用い，ビジュアルな授業を行う．また，理解を深めるために一部地図を用いた作業も行う．参加者と資料から読み取れる地理学的な事象についての議論も取り入れる．
