This course aims for students to understand the basis of concept of "culture" necessary when trying to analyze tourism phenomena from the perspective of "culture."
Acceleration of exchange on a global scale in modern society compels us to reconsider the fixed concept of “culture” taken for granted until now. Students critically investigate the formation of the conventional concept of culture and its social function; lectures are given on methods for understanding the dynamic concept of culture, taking into account development of modern transnationalism, including tourism.

「文化」という観点から観光現象を把握しようとする際に求められる「文化」概念認識の基本について理解することを目標とする。
This course aims for students to understand the basis of concept of "culture" necessary when trying to analyze tourism phenomena from the perspective of "culture."
現代社会における地球規模での交流の加速化は，これまで自明とされてきた固定的な「文化」概念の再考を我々に迫っている。従来の「文化」概念の成り立ちとその社会的機能を批判的に検討し，観光を含む現代のトランスナショナリズムの展開を視野に入れた動態的な「文化」概念の理解のしかたについて講義する。
