【Course Objectives】

This course aims to consider the following: What is anthropology? What is a museum? In this course, which has a seminar/training format, students analyze the “Little World Museum of Man” (Inuyama City, Aichi Prefecture), an academic anthropological museum and tourist facility.

【Course Contents】

After taking introductory courses and visiting Little World's outdoor exhibitions, main buildings, and repositories, each student selects one of the ethnic groups from around the world whose residential buildings, etc. have been relocated and restored at Little World and make a presentation including ethnographic data, while taking into account their own tour experiences.
Note: Visits to Little World will be scheduled for weekends (Saturday and Sunday) from late October to early November.Only students who can participate in this two-day workshop can enroll in this course.
