In this course, students will be able to:
1) understand that the boundaries that demarcate groups and cultures, such as ethnicity, are socially constructed.
2) critically examine existing boundaries, especially from the perspective of those who are socially marginalized.
First, we will learn how globalization has been changing society, culture, and nation states. Next, we will learn how different categories of human groups are constructed through the aspects of nation-states, indigenous peoples, conflicts, refugees, statelessness, and racism. Based on these examples, students will gain knowledge to examine how objects and human groups are constructed as resources for tourism.

この授業の到達目標は、次のとおりである。
1）エスニシティなど集団や文化を分ける境界線が、社会的に構築されたものであることを理解すること。
2）特に社会的に周縁化された人の視点から、既存の境界線のあり方を批判的に考察できるようになること。
In this course, students will be able to:

この授業では、まずグローバル化がいかに社会、文化、国家のあり方を変化させるのかを学ぶ。次に国民国家、先住民、紛争、難民、無国籍、レイシズムといった切り口から、どのように人間集団が創られるのかを学ぶ。これらの事例をもとに、観光資源となるモノや人間集団がいかに構築されるのかを考察するための知識を得る。
First, we will learn how globalization has been changing society, culture, and nation states. Next, we will learn how different categories of human groups are constructed through the aspects of nation-states, indigenous peoples, conflicts, refugees, statelessness, and racism. Based on these examples, students will gain knowledge to examine how objects and human groups are constructed as resources for tourism.

人類学的なアプローチでは、すぐに答えがでないテーマや問題に向き合うことができる知的な態度が求められる。「タイパ」「コスパ」とは真逆の姿勢が求められる。
授業資料は、Canvas LMSをとおして穴埋め形式になったPDFファイルで配布する。教室では配付しない。
各自で印刷するかPDFファイルに書き込みができるタブレットやPCを持参すること。
予習、復習や授業中にGoogle フォームや、その他のオンラインツールを用いて質問をしたり理解度をたずねる。質問やコメントについては、翌週にフィードバックする。また授業中に聴取した質問や意見をもとに、ディスカッションやペアワークなどを実施することもある。授業内容はシラバス執筆時のものである。時勢に応じて、若干、内容に変更が生じることがある。
