Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
1) Analyze tourism, mobility, and the integration of work and travel from a sociological perspective
2)Critically examine emerging lifestyles in relation to gender norms, masculinity/femininity, and structural gender inequalities
3)Apply an intersectional approach to understand how gender, culture, place of origin, sexuality, and other social factors shape diverse and sustainable ways of living
Through assigned readings and class discussions, this course examines emerging lifestyles surrounding tourism and work by focusing on the growing view of work and leisure as spaces of self-expression, as well as the blurring boundaries between leisure and labor, and between settlement and mobility. In addition, students will engage with foundational texts to develop a sociological understanding of how these transformations are connected to gender norms and inequalities.

ジェンダーの視点から、観光や人の移動が生み出す多様なライフスタイルを社会学的に考察します。26年度は特に「観光×労働の融合」に焦点を当てます。本ゼミでは、新しい生活様式を「男らしさ・女らしさ」といった社会規範やジェンダー格差の視点から問い直し、多様で持続可能な社会を考える力を養います。その際、一人ひとりの経験は、性別だけでなく、出身や文化、セクシュアリティなど複数の要素が重なって形づくられることに留意しつつ検討を進めます。

文献講読とディスカッションを通して、仕事と遊びを自己表現の場として捉える価値観の広がりや、余暇／労働、定住／移動といった境界の曖昧化を手がかりに、観光と労働をめぐる新しいライフスタイルを検討する。あわせて、ジェンダーに関する基礎的文献を読み、これらの変化がジェンダー規範や格差とどのように結びついているのかを社会学的視点から理解する。
