【Course Objectives】

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
1) Build on their learning in the spring semester by continuing to develop the sociological imagination to consider what makes a fair and sustainable society.
2) Develop skills to research topics of interest and disseminate well-researched information effectively

【Course Contents】

By continuing to read sociological literature, students learn about the relationship between identity and structural inequality. During field trips, students can apply classroom knowledge to research existing activities that seek to create a more diverse and sustainable society. By putting together research outcomes in creative formats, students build on their experience of disseminating information effectively. The main research interests are youth, gender, sexuality and multiculturalism, but others are also acceptable.
