Students in this course will read English-language texts and engage in discussions, presentations, and group work based on their content to learn about psychological research methods, theories, concepts, terminology, and case studies.
Students will learn practical know-how for research papers (compact editions) with the prerequisite that students took and mastered the introductory disciplines of the Department of Psychology, "Introduction to Psychology 1 & 2" and "Psychological Statistics 1 & 2". In order to provide smooth transition to "Research Methods in Psychology" and "Seminar on Psychology", which are disciplines in development and completion phases, students learn about research plan and improve their skills of reading English-language literature. Also, reading academic papers in English is the basis of the free elective subject "Seminar on English Reading in Psychology". The contents of psychological research during reading class will be from a wide range of field including social, perception, memory, and clinical psychology.

・春学期初回のガイダンスにて、授業で使用するテキストの入手方法について指示し、また各教員が授業の進め方について案内する（秋学期ではガイダンスは行わないので、春学期の初回ガイダンスには必ず出席すること）。
・補足的資料や参考文献の紹介・配布が行われる場合がある。
・質問などに対するフィードバックや全体への連絡はCanvas LMSなどを利用して行う。
・この授業では、ガイダンス回と予備回を除く前半6回と後半6回を、異なる教員が担当する。
英語の文献を講読し、その内容をもとにディスカッション、発表、グループワークなどを通じて、心理学の研究手法、理論、概念、用語、研究事例について学ぶ。
Students in this course will read English-language texts and engage in discussions, presentations, and group work based on their content to learn about psychological research methods, theories, concepts, terminology, and case studies.
心理学科の導入期科目である「心理学概論１・２」と「心理学統計法１・２」の学修・内容理解を前提としながら、研究論文（縮刷版）の実際にあたる。そして形成期・完成期科目である「心理学研究法」および「心理学演習」への円滑な接続をはかるため、研究計画について学び、英語文献を読み込む技術を高める。また、自由科目に設定される「英語文献講読演習」の履修をはじめとした、英語論文を読んでいく上での基盤とする。講読では、社会・知覚・記憶や臨床領域など幅広い分野に触れる。
