To develop an understanding of various social psychological approaches aimed at explaining collective and cultural phenomena.
Human beings are influenced by social factors such as their environment and culture, while at the same time actively shaping and transforming those very environments and cultures. Clarifying the mutually constitutive relationship between micro-level individuals and macro-level society is not an easy task, and social psychology has approached this issue using a wide range of theoretical and methodological perspectives. This course introduces collective and cultural phenomena that emerge through the mutually constitutive processes between individuals and society, as well as the diverse theoretical approaches that seek to explain these phenomena.
Rather than focusing on introducing a large number of empirical findings, this course places greater emphasis on explaining (meta-)theories that aim to integrate such findings and on elucidating the methodological foundations upon which individual studies are based.

To develop an understanding of various social psychological approaches aimed at explaining collective and cultural phenomena.
人間は環境や文化といった社会的影響に左右されると同時に、自らその環境や文化に能動的に影響を与える存在でもあります。ミクロな個人とマクロな社会の相互規定的な関係を明らかにすることは容易ではなく、社会心理学は様々なアプローチを使ってこの問題に取り組んでいます。この授業では個人と社会の相互規定的なプロセスの中で生じる集合的・文化的な現象と、その現象の解明を試みる様々な理論的なアプローチを紹介します。
この授業では、多くの研究知見を紹介するよりは、それらの研究知見を統合的に説明しようと試みる（メタ）理論の説明や個別の研究が依拠する方法論の説明に重点を置きます。
