【Course Objectives】

Based on the progress in the course “Seminar on Thesis Writing 1,” guidance will be provided on practical research and academic paper writing to students who chose their research topic for their graduation paper from the fields of judgement and decision making, extended social psychology, and higher-level cognitive processing. The aim is to conduct research for and complete the graduation thesis.

【Course Contents】

Based on the results of the course “Seminar on Thesis Writing 1,” students will receive guidance on academic research, analysis of experiment data, and academic writing. Research topics for graduation theses cover the research areas of cognitive and social psychology that are garnering attention in modern society, such as judgement and decision making, consumer behavior and consumer decision making, human behavior related to Internet use, and high-level cognitive processes (i.e. memory, perception, language understanding, language generation, problem solving, reasoning, decision making).
In this course, students will receive guidance on important aspects of analyzing data with statistical software, examining and discussing research results, and summarizing them for their graduation theses. Analyzing and understanding data with statistical software is especially important. Individual research guidance is actively provided outside of class time via the mailing lists.
