Understanding and effectively communicating psychology research in English is essential, as English remains the primary language of the field. The English Expression in Psychology, Level 1 (Beginner) course is designed to help students develop foundational skills for presenting and discussing research in English. This includes mastering basic presentation techniques, becoming familiar with key academic terminology, and learning to articulate and engage in discussions about research topics.
Throughout the course, students will practice expressing their ideas clearly and confidently in a supportive environment. By the end of the semester, students are expected to have a solid understanding of commonly used expressions and terminology in psychology and be equipped with the essential skills to present and discuss research effectively. This course provides a strong foundation for academic communication, particularly in the field of psychology.
This beginner-level course is designed to help students build foundational skills for presenting psychology and related research in English. The course takes a step-by-step approach, focusing on learning relevant terminology and understanding the structure of effective presentations.
Students will participate in a range of activities, including group work, class discussions, and mini-presentations, to practice presenting ideas clearly and engaging with research topics. Each session builds on the previous one, gradually helping students develop their presentation and communication skills in an academic context.
The course emphasizes practical application, giving students the opportunity to create and deliver presentations on psychological topics. Through group activities and discussions, students will gain experience expressing their ideas, understanding feedback, and improving their delivery.
By the end of the course, students will give a final presentation, lasting 10-15 minutes, on a psychology-related topic of their choice. This final project allows students to apply the skills and knowledge they have developed throughout the semester.
The goal is to provide students with the tools to effectively communicate psychology topics in English while fostering confidence and familiarity with academic presentations.
