| 備考/ NotesNotes |
This course introduces students to core research methods in psychology through the medium of English. The aim is to help students understand how psychological research is designed, conducted, and reported, and to develop the ability to explain research methods, findings, and limitations in clear academic English.
Rather than focusing on technical calculations, the course emphasises understanding key methodological concepts, interpreting research results, and discussing methodological strengths and weaknesses. By the end of the course, students will be able to describe and evaluate basic research designs and communicate their understanding of psychological research in English.
This course introduces students to the basic principles of psychological research and research methods, using English as the language of instruction. Students learn to recognise and use key terminology in psychology and academic research while developing an understanding of core concepts such as research questions, variables, and experimental design.
Each week focuses on a topic related to psychological research methods, followed by class discussions and short in-class activities that allow students to apply key concepts and interpret research examples. Students also submit short reaction papers on selected topics, providing opportunities to reflect on and critically engage with the material.
The course concludes with a final presentation (10–15 minutes), in which students apply what they have learned to explain and discuss a psychology research topic of their choice.
By the end of the course, students will have a solid foundational understanding of psychological research methods and will be able to discuss and evaluate these methods, including their strengths and limitations, in an academic context using English.
