The goal is to understand the importance of African diaspora as the constituent factor of modernity, and to become able to criticize modern society.
The goal is to elucidate the importance of music in the African diasporatic culture through the reading of studies on the black music. Professor gives lectures, and students do presentations in groups. Course uses movies as materials.

アフリカン・ディアスポラの文化にとって重要な音楽についての論考を取り上げる。教員の講義と学生によるグループ発表によって進めていく。映像教材も用いる。
