Students will improve their understanding of theatrical practice of preceding generations, obtain the basic viewpoint needed for production and research.
Students will read the records from the discussion meetings in 80s and early 90s about the various theatrical movements of that time. Through teacher's explanations, whole class discussions, reproducing the corresponding works they imagine the space of the discourse. It might not immediately connect to the current theatrical art expression students might be familiar with, understanding of the history of theater like Shingeki, Angura, small theater and modern colloquial drama, or to the position in the art world. However, the class will cover the connection with theatrical practices trending nowadays, like participatory, documentary and post-drama as it historically relates to them.

先行世代の演劇実践について理解を深め、制作・研究に際しての基礎的な視座を身につける。
Students will improve their understanding of theatrical practice of preceding generations, obtain the basic viewpoint needed for production and research.
80年代中頃〜90年代前半の各種演劇運動に関する、当時の座談会などの採録を声に出して読む。教員による補足、全体での議論および該当する作品の再演を通じて、言説空間を想像する。履修者が親しんでいると思われる現行の舞台芸術表現や、新劇、アングラ、小劇場、現代口語演劇といった演劇史理解、またアートワールドにおける位置付けとすぐにはむすびつかないかもしれない。しかし現在の潮流である参加型、ドキュメンタリー、ポストドラマ的な演劇実践の前史にあたるので、適宜つながりを提示する。
