Students read and promote their understanding of the representative chapters from Zhuang-zi.
We will read ancient Chinese thought, Zhuang-zi, and consider views of the body, and views of life and death. Each class will consists of either a lecture or a student report followed by an exchange of opinions by the whole class. Students making reports will carefully read their assigned texts, conduct research as required, and deliver an oral explanation in class.

全員が指定箇所を精読し、わからない文字は漢和辞典で意味を調べてくる。担当者は古典文献の訳注や授業時に紹介する文献を参考にして課題について調べ、レジュメを作成して報告する。各回の予習・復習にはそれぞれ平均して２時間程度を要する。

紀元前の思想書『荘子』に収録される寓話を通して、古代中国の死生観と身体観について学び、理解を深める。
Students read and promote their understanding of the representative chapters from Zhuang-zi.
荘周は紀元前４世紀頃の戦国時代に生まれ、人間の運命を追究することに専念した人物である。彼の著作『荘子』に見える「万物斉同」の認識論、「無為自然」の人生観、後の時代の神仙説の基盤となった「養生説」を中心に、現代語訳を参考にしながら精読する。授業はおもに担当者の報告と全員の意見交換によって進めてゆく。
