Creating a play. Students develop their own opinion on materials and mediums of plays and performance, accumulate experience that supports their arguments.
The class mainly features reading aloud, discussion and creating. The main literature used in class is about Japanese theater practices, but the requests of course participants can be taken into account. The contents must, however, feature research of gestures, folk plays and the form. The first semester features basically the supervision of production from professors, and performing plays staged by the students.

演劇をつくる。劇あるいは演劇の、素材ないし媒体に関して自分の意見を持ち、その議論の裏付けとしうる経験を積む。
Creating a play. Students develop their own opinion on materials and mediums of plays and performance, accumulate experience that supports their arguments.
授業は主に、音読と議論、創作をもって進める。講読する文献は国内の演劇実践にまつわるものを中心に、履修者の需要も考慮する。ただし身振り研究、民衆演劇、形式については必ず取り扱う。創作について、春学期は基本的に教員が演出を担当し、学生が出演する上演を行なう。
