Students will acquire the essential knowledge and techniques for discussing audiovisual media, especially film, and consider their own themes through research presentations and discussions. The final goal is to complete the results of each student's studies as a graduation thesis.
First, students will attend an introductory lecture on how to research audiovisual media, especially film. Then, they will learn how to research, how to make presentations, and how to conduct a thesis. In the course, students will read research methodologies and critical texts on film. Students will then give presentations based on their own themes. The schedule of lectures, subscriptions, and presentations will be adjusted flexibly based on the number of students enrolled.

映画をはじめとする視聴覚メディアについて論じるために欠かせない知識や技法を習得し、研究発表とディスカッションを通じて各自のテーマに関する理解を深める。各自の学修の成果を卒業論文としてまとめることを最終的な目標とする。

まず、映画をはじめとする視聴覚メディアをテーマに研究を進めていくための方法に関して教員が導入的な講義を行う。資料の調べ方やまとめ方、発表の仕方、卒論の進め方などについて理解を深める。そのなかで、必要に応じて研究に関する方法論や、映画について論じた優れた文章を講読する。次に、履修者が各自のテーマに基づいて発表と議論を行っていく。授業計画における講義、講読、発表のスケジュールは、履修者の人数に基づいて柔軟に調整する。
