In this course, students will read texts related to media. Through these readings, the course aims to encourage reflection on the various mediations that underpin our daily lives and artistic creations.
This course will explore not only media as tools for communication but also the materials and conditions that serve as the foundation for various forms of artistic expression. Human life, as well as the artistic expressions humans create, is inherently meant to be free, yet it is constrained and directed by various objects and conditions. By reading texts on media, including its relationship with different forms of art, the course encourages a re-examination of our lives and creativity.

この授業では、メディアにまつわる文献を講読します。それを通じて、私達が生活したり、芸術的な創造を行ったりすることが、いかなる媒介の上に成り立っているかについて、あらためて考えることを目的とします。

この授業で扱うのは、コミュニケーションの道具としてのメディアのみならず、各芸術表現の土台となる物質や条件も含みます。人間の生も、人間が行う芸術的表現も、本来は自由なもののはずですが、それは様々なモノや条件に制限され、方向づけられてもいます。種々の芸術との関係を含む、メディアについての文献を読むことで、私達の生や創造をあらためて考えることを促します。
