We understand the potential and diversity of language arts and understand various writers' attempts. We acquire knowledge about modern and contemporary literature mainly in France.
We consider literature centered on France. The study focuses on Surrealism, the largest art movement in the 20th century. It also considers the linguistic arts of various writers associated with it. The authors include Baudelaire, Tzara, Breton, Bataille, Leiris and Artaud. I conduct classes in a lecture format. Exercises may be conducted in the event that the number of students is small.

フランスを中心とした文学を考察する。２０世紀最大の芸術運動であるシュルレアリスムを中心として検討する。それと関連するさまざまな作家たちの言語芸術についても考察する。取り上げる作家は、ボードレール、ランボー、ロートレアモン、ツァラ、ブルトン、バタイユ、レリス、アルトーなどである。授業は講義形式で行うが、受講生が少ない場合は演習形式で行う場合もある。
