Develop the ability to analyze visual works and critically discuss them in relation to philosophical concepts.
This course aims to develop the ability to analyze visual works and critically discuss them in relation to philosophical concepts. First, students will explore the principles and characteristics of visual expression based on film theory, visual culture studies, and intellectual history. Then, they will analyze selected films and visual media in connection with philosophical themes. Through this process, students will enhance their critical thinking skills and learn to perceive visual media not merely as entertainment but as a subject of intellectual inquiry.

難解な映像作品を扱い、哲学的テーマを展開する予定ですので、抽象度の高い議論に慣れている必要があります。授業計画はあくまで予定です。

Develop the ability to analyze visual works and critically discuss them in relation to philosophical concepts.
本講義では、映像作品を分析し、哲学的概念と絡めながら論じる力を養うことを目的とする。まず、映画理論や視覚文化論、思想史に基づき、映像表現の原理や特性を学ぶ。その後、具体的な映画や映像作品を取り上げ、哲学的テーマと関連付けながら分析を行う。その際、批判的思考を深めることで、映像を単なる娯楽ではなく、知的探究の対象として捉える力を養う。
This course aims to develop the ability to analyze visual works and critically discuss them in relation to philosophical concepts. First, students will explore the principles and characteristics of visual expression based on film theory, visual culture studies, and intellectual history.
