Key terms will be the basis for analyzing performing arts, with particular focus on the body and corporeality, to deepen understanding. Students will learn the theories and methods of dance and performance studies.
In this class we will analyze examples of dance and performance by applying concepts that are important in thinking about contemporary performing arts. Students will deepen their thinking about the elements that constitute the dancing body (e.g. gravity, gesture and mass), artist strategies (e.g. citation, task and lecture performance) and the relationship between performance and technology apparent in each era.
The class will primarily be in lecture format, but students will be asked to participate in discussions.

ダンスを中心とするパフォーミング・アーツを、特に身体に注目しながら、いくつかのキータームに基づいて分析しより深く理解する。そのプロセスを通して、舞踊研究やパフォーマンス研究の理論や手法を身につける。

本講義は、昨今のパフォーミング・アーツを考察する際に鍵となるコンセプトに沿って、いくつかの事例の分析を試みる。踊る身体を構成する要素（重力・身振り・群舞など）のほか、アーティストが用いた戦略（引用・タスク・レクチャー形式など）、またそれらが上演される時代ごとに登場するテクノロジーとの関連を検討する。
基本的には講義形式で進める予定であるが、議論には積極的な参加が求められる。
