The aim of this course is to obtain the knowledge of modern art and to be able to understand contemporary expressions.
By appreciating major works of modern and contemporary art, the students will explore their concepts and theories through lectures. In particular, we will focus on the creative practice of Marcel Duchamp, who had an immense influence on contemporary art so that students can express their own sensory impressions in words and develop their understanding of expressions of the present day.

本授業の到達目標は、近現代美術の知識を獲得し、現代の表現について考えられるようになることである。
The aim of this course is to obtain the knowledge of modern art and to be able to understand contemporary expressions.
近現代美術の作品を鑑賞しながら、概念や理論について講義をおこなう。
特に、芸術について語るための言葉をそれぞれが身につけ、現代の表現について自身の考えを深めていけるように、現代美術に多大な影響を与えたマルセル・デュシャンの制作を中心に取り上げる。
By appreciating major works of modern and contemporary art, the students will explore their concepts and theories through lectures.
