•Develop a deeper understanding of students’ own cultural identity and consider alternate views
•Develop a deeper understanding of intercultural communication
•Build confidence in expressing personal opinions and experiences
•Write a report
•Make a presentation
•Understand the elements of visual design

【Course Contents】

This course develops student confidence in using English to express themselves on a deeper and more meaningful level.
Understanding a foreign culture helps us to understand our own culture, and the learning objectives in the course will be based on identity interviews with foreigners. In this course we will practice expressing ourselves through discussion, presentation, and writing, as we develop a clear understanding of our own identity and values in contrast to others.

The language of instruction and output in this course is English. However, students do not need to worry about their English ability. University entrance level English is adequate, and research can be conducted using Japanese or any other language.
