The main goal of this course is acquiring basic knowledge on various Asian religions. The course also aims to help students develop the ability or habit to think of social and cultural issues concerning religion from various viewpoints.
In this course, with a focus on East Asia, we will learn about various Asian religions and explore the role that diverse religious beliefs and practices have played in the formation and historical transformations of Asian cultures. The course will focus on Taoism, Buddhism, Confucianism and Shinto.

アジアの諸宗教に関する基礎知識を取得し、宗教関連の社会的・文化的問題を様々な視点から考える態度・能力を身に付けることが本コースの到達目標である。
The main goal of this course is acquiring basic knowledge on various Asian religions. The course also aims to help students develop the ability or habit to think of social and cultural issues concerning religion from various viewpoints.
本コースでは、東アジアを中心にアジアの宗教思想を学ぶとともに、多種多様な宗教信仰と実践がアジア（主に東洋）の文化の形成過程や歴史的変貌において果たした役割を考えていく。焦点は日本及び東アジアにおける仏教や儒教、道教や神道などに置く。
