In order to grasp modern society, we will examine what kind of sociology, social thought, and social philosophical perspectives are needed.
(Note, it is preferred for students to take “Sociology 1” in advance of “Sociology 2, as the lectures progress building on each other.)
Lectures will progress, providing the opportunity to grasp “modern society” from the various angles necessary, using relatively new sociology and socio-philosophical methodologies. We will read and understand “contemporary society” in consideration of politics, social movements, dynamism, diversity of values, social structures, and their changes in society. In particular, we will focus on points such as “violence” and “power”, attempting to trace back to so-called abstract social philosophy.

現代社会を捉えるうえで、どのような社会学・社会思想・社会哲学的視角が必要なのかをつかみとってもらいます。
（なお、「社会学１」を踏まえて講義を進めるので、本講義「社会学２」は「社会学１」をあらかじめ受講していることが望ましいです）

「現代社会」ということを多角的に捉えるべく、わりと新しい社会学、社会哲学の視点や方法論などを駆使しつつ講義を進めます。
その際、社会の中の政治、社会運動、社会のダイナミズム、社会の中の価値の多様性、社会構造とその変化などに留意しながら「現代社会」を読み解いていきます。
とくに、「主体」「力」「抵抗」「権力」「暴力」といった点に着目し、それらを社会・哲学的な抽象にまでさかのぼって把握することに努めます。
