Learn the knowledge necessary to understand social work practice in the medical field. First, understand trends, policies, systems, and services in health care. On top of that, learn the roles, duties, and ideals of social workers in medical care and hospitals.appropriate support and their roles, and also collaboration and cooperation.
This course will provide a detailed explanation of medical social work practice, with a focus on hospitals, and the trends and policies in health care that are the background to it. In particular, it will provide a detailed explanation of the "Five Diseases, Five Projects" and the medical fee system, which have a major impact on people's lives and social work in hospitals. Due to policies to reduce medical expenses, hospitals are being functionally differentiated, and there is a demand to promote discharge from hospital and shift to home care. This is having an impact on end-of-life care, and in some cases, home care in an undesirable form is being promoted. With an understanding of this reality, the course will consider the role and form of social work in medical care and hospitals.

医療分野におけるソーシャルワーク実践を理解するために必要な知識を身に付ける。まず保健医療の動向・政策・制度およびサービスについて理解する。その上で、医療・病院におけるソーシャルワーカーの役割・業務・在り方を考えることが出来る。また、倫理的に課題があるとされるテーマについて採りあげ、ソーシャルワークの観点から考察することができる。

病院を中心として、医療ソーシャルワークの実践とその背景となる保健医療の動向・政策について詳しく解説する。特に、人の生活や病院におけるソーシャルワーク業務に大きな影響を与えている「５疾病５事業」と診療報酬制度について詳細に解説する。医療費削減政策により、病院は機能分化され、退院促進・在宅療養への転換が求められている。その中で終末期医療に影響が出たり、望まない形での在宅療養が進められている部分もある。そうした現実を理解した上で、医療や病院におけるソーシャルワークの役割と在り方について考察する。
