This course aims to teach explore how lifelong learning programs benefit society. Students will:
•be able to research and discuss the history, policy and theory that supports lifelong learning in Japan.
•be able to effectively review research sources.
•be able to write Cornell Notes.
•be able to give a presentation in English
•develop autonomy, creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration skills.
This course focuses on lifelong learning (LLL) in general, with a specific focus on the role it plays for senior citizens. Students are required to research a specific LLL topic. They will learn to use Cornell Notes for research. They will also interview senior LLL students. Finally, they will give an English presentation based on their research.

The language of instruction and output in this course is English. However, students do not need to worry about their English ability. University entrance-level English is adequate, and research can be conducted using Japanese or any other language.
本授業の指導および成果物は英語で行う。ただし、英語力を過度に心配する必要はない。大学入学試験レベルの英語力があれば十分であり、研究は日本語または他の言語を用いて行ってもよい。

本授業では、生涯学習(LLL)全般について学ぶとともに、特に高齢者にとっての生涯学習の役割に焦点を当てる。学生は、生涯学習に関する特定のテーマについて調査を行い、コーネルノートを用いた情報整理の方法を学ぶ。また、高齢者の生涯学習受講者へのインタビューを実施し、その成果を基に英語によるプレゼンテーションを行う。
