Rather than treating the subject as something that concerns “others,” this course encourages students to reflect on it as an issue that concerns themselves—as family members, peers, and fellow human beings. Students will learn about people living with mental illness, as well as the social contexts, historical treatment practices, and available social resources surrounding them. Through this process, students will confront their own assumptions and challenges. The course aims to foster a habit of critically reconsidering one’s own attitudes and perspectives so that all people—including those living with mental illness and those with diverse individual characteristics—can live safely and with dignity in society.
This course provides a systematic and practice-oriented introduction to psychiatric rehabilitation. Lectures will be delivered primarily using PowerPoint presentations, while also incorporating audiovisual materials and experiential learning activities. In addition, two guest speakers—individuals with lived experience of mental illness and/or family members—will be invited to participate in the class, either in person or via Zoom depending on circumstances. Through direct dialogue with these speakers, students will explore the difficulties associated with living with mental illness or disability, learn about the significance of self-help groups, and consider how people can reclaim their rights and continue the process of recovery.

ニュースや日常生活において見聞きする精神障害やメンタルヘルスに関する話題を意識して、立ち止って考えることを習慣づけてください。 そして見、聴く、知る、考える姿勢を身につけ、精神障害のみならず、当たり前に思いがちな考えを問い直すことを意識してください。授業時間外の学習指標に関するものは、必要に応じて別途指示します。

①よりリアルに知ってもらうために、授業内で精神障害リハビリテーションやセルフヘルプグループのグループ体験を２～３回してもらいます。
②自分で感じ、考えることを意識してもらうために、毎回テーマに沿ってアクションペーパーを求めます。

ＷＲＡＰ体験の講義では実際にＷＲＡＰを行っている当事者の方を、精神障害者家族の講義では当事者家族の方を招き、リアルな講義にしようと考えています。ゲストスピーカーの都合により、講義の順番が変わる場合があります。本科目は2022年度以前の入学者については、精神保健福祉士資格取得のための科目です。資格取得を考えていない方でも、知識がない方でも、精神障害やメンタルヘルスに興味のある方であれば、歓迎します。
他人の事ではなく自分の事として、家族として、仲間として、そして人間として、精神疾患のある人々や精神疾患のある人をとりまく社会や処遇の歴史や社会資源を知り、自らの課題に向き合います。精神疾患のある人も含めて色々な個性を持つ我々皆が、安心して暮らせるために、自らの考え方や態度を問い直す習慣を身につけてほしいと願っています。

精神障害リハビリテーション論を系統的にかつ実践的に学びます。主にパワーポイントを使用し講義を行いますが、視聴覚資料・体験学習も多くとりいれます。また計2回ゲストスピーカーとして当事者の方やご家族の方を対面で、状況によってはZOOMで招いて、直接対話しながら授業を行う予定です。その過程で、精神疾患や障害を持つことによる困難、自助グループの重要性を知り、人権を取り戻し、回復を続けていくためにどうしたらよいか、共に悩み考えていきたいと思います。
