There are people who face “difficulties in life” due to the complex challenges caused by the contemporary social and cultural environment. In order to provide appropriate support to these people, an approach consisting of a single perspective has its limitations. Therefore, community social work is required to develop individual and community support in an integrated manner in cooperation with various organizations that have different perspectives. This course aims to provide a theoretical understanding of the history of community social work and how it has developed, and how community social work can be understood, and what individual support, community support, and their integration are, through specific examples.
After forming a basic understanding of what community social work is, the history of community social work will be studied, and what is needed to actually develop it will be lectured with specific examples. The course will be conducted mainly in a lecture format, but audiovisual materials will be used several times to demonstrate specific practices. The lectures will be accompanied by dialogue, so a positive classroom attitude is expected.

現代の社会的・文化的環境に起因する複合的な課題によって、「生きづらさ」に直面している人たちがいる。その人たちに地域の中で適切なサポートを提供するためには、単一の視点からなるアプローチでは限界がある。そこで、異なった視点を有する多様な機関と協働・連携し、個別支援と地域支援を統合的に展開するコミュニティソーシャルワークが求められる。この科目は、コミュニティソーシャルワークがどのような歴史をたどり発展してきたか、そしてコミュニティソーシャルワークをどのように理解することができるか、個別支援、地域支援、そしてその統合とはどのようなものかを具体例を通して、理論的に把握することを目標とする。

コミュニティーソーシャルワークとはどのようなものかについての基本的な理解を形成したうえで、その歴史を学び、実際にそれを展開する際に何が必要とされるのかを具体例を交えて講義する。主に講義形式で展開するが、数回視聴覚教材を用いて具体的実践を示す。講義の際には、対話も行うので、積極的な授業態度が期待される。
