Students will acquire basic statistical literacy in order to properly understand the statistical data and information, gathering various public statistics and survey reports on issues of concern.
(1) Accessing existing public statistics and survey reports, (2) Methods for compiling statistical information and analysis results into charts, (3) Basic knowledge and statistical concepts to analyze and interpret recorded statistical data appropriately, (4) Explanation of empirical research methods using social survey data.

・本授業の理解を深めるために，同学期に開講予定の「社会調査法」（社会調査士科目A）・「リサーチ方法論1」（社会調査士科目B）の同時履修を推奨する。
問題関心に合わせて、各種公的統計や調査報告書を収集し、それらに掲載されている統計データや情報を適切に理解するための「統計リテラシー」を修得する。
Students will acquire basic statistical literacy in order to properly understand the statistical data and information, gathering various public statistics and survey reports on issues of concern.
（1）既存の公的統計や調査報告書のアクセス方法、（2）統計情報・分析結果を図表にまとめる方法、（3）記述統計データを適切に分析・解釈するための基本的知識および統計概念、（4）社会調査データを用いた実証研究の方法などについて解説する。
