Although the definition of "citizen" cannot necessarily be fixed, if we provisionally define it as being a "independent and autonomous adult" in modern society, this course aims to examine the process of becoming a "independent and autonomous adult" from an educational perspective.
We will examine from an educational perspective, through literature review and fieldwork, questions such as what constitutes a "citizen" or a "independent and autonomous adult", how the formation process can be understood, and what kinds of support can be provided during this process.

コミュニティ政策学科での教育の中心に位置づけられる選択必修科目である。各教員の研究テーマに即して、少人数クラスで専門文献の講読や現地調査、現場実習などを行う。
本クラスの目標は、「市民」とは何かは必ずしも確定できるわけではないが，さしあたって現代社会において「一人前の大人」であるとすると，「一人前の大人」になるプロセスを教育学的に検討することを目指す。

「市民」ないしは「一人前の大人」とは何か，その形成プロセスをどのように捉えればよいのか，形成プロセスにどのような支援ができるのか，等を中心に，文献調査及びフィールドワークを通じて教育学的に検討する。
