To understand the basic roles and mechanisms of Japan's social welfare system and be able to explain the issues and challenges faced by these systems.
This course aims to develop an understanding of the current state of welfare issues and the broader social context in contemporary Japan. On this basis, students will study various social welfare systems and consider their institutional challenges and future prospects. In doing so, particular attention will be given to poverty and to people who fall through the gaps of existing systems.

日本の社会福祉制度について、その基本的な役割や仕組みについて理解し、それらの制度が抱える問題や課題について説明できるようにする。

現代日本における福祉問題の現状や社会状況を理解する。そのうえで、各社会福祉制度について学び、その制度的課題と展望について考察する。その際、とりわけ「貧困」および「制度の狭間にある人」に着目して検討していく。
