Analyzing social survey data collected by sampling, students will acquire basic knowledge of inference statistics, necessary to summarize the results.
Explaining the various statistical methods needed to conduct quantitative research. Using spreadsheet software (Excel) and statistical software (SPSS), we will learn analysis of real data using a personal computer. This lecture will cover, (1) Statistical consideration of data, (2) Data handling and cleaning, (3) Visual representations of data, (4) Probability theory and statistical estimation theory, (5) Sampling theory, (6) Specific statistical methods.

サンプリングによって収集された社会調査データを分析し、その結果をまとめるために必要な推測統計学の基礎的知識を修得する。

量的調査研究を行う上で必要な各種の統計手法を解説する。表計算ソフトウェア（Excel）や統計ソフトウェア（SPSS）を利用し、パソコンを用いたデータ分析の実際を学習する。講義では、（1）データの統計的考察、（2）データのハンドリングとクリーニング、（3）データの視覚的表示法、（4）確率論および統計的推計理論、（5）サンプリング理論、（6）具体的な統計手法について扱う。
