In this course, students will learn about the demographic trends, history and policy trends related to Japan's low fertility and ageing society. As well as understanding this as knowledge, the sociological background to the problems of a declining birth rate and an ageing society will be discussed, as will the political issues and the future of the manuscript.
Various issues related to Japan's demographics have long been discussed, and numerous measures have been implemented to address the challenges of the declining birthrate and aging society. When considering future social welfare and social policies, the issue of the declining birthrate and aging society is indispensable. However, understanding each policy individually is insufficient.
Based on this premise, this class analyzes the essence of an aging society with a low birthrate from various perspectives, including family, gender, employment, local communities, and social security. It explores the social values and institutional issues underlying these challenges and discusses how society should be transformed in the future.
This class provides a valuable opportunity for those interested in the future of society to deepen their practical knowledge and critical thinking skills.

夏休みなどを使い、高齢社会白書（内閣府）や少子化対策白書（内閣府）・こども白書（こども家庭庁）など、白書に触れてもらえれば幸いである。
本授業では、日本の少子高齢化について、人口動態や政策動向を学び、今後の日本の社会のあり方について考える。少子高齢化に関わる基礎知識の獲得に加え、少子高齢社会を社会学や政治学の見地から考察し、政策課題と今後について検討していくことを目指す。

日本の人口動態を巡る諸問題は、少子高齢化問題として長らく議論され、さまざまな施策が実施されてきた。今後の社会福祉・社会政策を考える際、少子高齢社会問題は欠かすことのできない論点であるとともに、各施策を個別に理解するだけでは不十分であるといえる。
こうした前提のもと、本授業では少子高齢社会の本質を、家族、ジェンダー、雇用、地域コミュニティ、社会保障などの幅広い視点から多角的に分析する。少子高齢化の背景にある社会的な価値観や制度の問題を理解し、これからの社会をどのように変えていくべきかを議論する。
社会の未来に関心がある者にとって、実践的な知識と思考力を深める貴重な機会となる。
