To deepen understanding of the historical flow of modern Japan and the movements of the times behind them.
The aim of this course is to deepen understanding of the history of modern and contemporary Japan and the social circumstances that form its backdrop by conducting lectures divided into different time periods. The course primarily provides an overview of modern and contemporary Japanese society based on the resume by lectures including video viewing. Featured topics include contemporary modern and contemporary history of Japan from the perspective of Christianity, regional theories, such as the history of modern and contemporary Japan as viewed from Nemuro City in Hokkaido and the history of the Liberal Democratic Party as seen from its factions Based on these, students will be required to give presentations on the history of modern and contemporary Japan. In the final class, I would like to summarize the entire course based on the presentations. As much as possible, the content will be designed to provide information on current issues, interview preparation, and essay writing for student life and future job-hunting activities.

授業時間外の学習に関する指示がある場合には、必要に応じて別途行う。大きくはプレゼンテーションの準備になると思う。何かしらの疑問・課題意識を持って毎回の講義に臨んでもらいたい。高校時代に日本史の受講経験がない受講者は、日本近現代史の高校教科書・参考書に目を通しておくことも勧めておきたい。
If there are instructions for learning outside class hours, it should be done separately as needed, with a focus mainly on preparing for presentations. Students are expected to attend each lecture with some form of question or awareness of issues. For those who have not studied Japanese history in high school, it is also recommended to review high school textbooks and reference books on modern and contemporary Japanese history.

本講義はPowerPointかWordのレジュメを用いて行う。
受講者の人数が多い場合には、プレゼンテーションを優先し、授業計画の順番の変更や補講を設けることもありうる。
リアクションペーパーについては適宜（提出から可能な限り機を逸しない形で）フィードバックを行う。
プレゼンテーションは、極度のあがり症などの事情で、参加できない場合は、個別の機会を設ける。
This course will be conducted using PowerPoint or Word handouts. If the number of students exceeds a certain number, priority will be given to presentations, and changes to the course schedule or additional classes may be necessary. Feedback on reaction papers will be provided as promptly as possible after submission. If students are unable to participate in presentations due to extreme nervousness or other reasons, individual opportunities will be arranged.
近現代日本の歴史の流れ・その背景となる時代の動きについての理解を深める。

近現代日本の歴史とその背景となる社会状況などについて、時期区分ごとに区切る形で講義を進め、理解を深めていくことを目的とする。基本的にレジュメをもとに近現代の日本社会を、動画視聴を含む講義で概観する。スポット的に、キリスト教史と日本近現代史、地域論として北海道根室市から見た日本近現代史、そして派閥から見た自民党史を取り上げる。それらを踏まえて、学生には、日本近現代史に関するプレゼンテーションを行ってもらう。最後の授業では、プレゼンテーションを踏まえて全体を総括したい。可能な限り、今後の学生生活と将来の就職活動を念頭に置いて、教養対策と面接対策、小論文対策の一助となるような内容としたい。
