The main goal of this course is acquiring basic knowledge on various Asian religions. The course also aims to help students develop the ability or habit to think of social and cultural issues concerning religion from various viewpoints.
In this course, we will learn about various religions in East Asia, comparatively examine their worldviews and value systems and consider how they have influenced each other. The course will focus on Shinto, Taoism, Buddhism, and Confucianism in Japan and China.

アジアの諸宗教に関する基礎知識を取得し、宗教関連の社会的・文化的問題を様々な視点から考える態度・能力を身に付けることが本コースの到達目標である。
The main goal of this course is acquiring basic knowledge on various Asian religions. The course also aims to help students develop the ability or habit to think of social and cultural issues concerning religion from various viewpoints.
本コースでは、東アジアを中心に宗教思想を学ぶとともに、諸宗教の世界観や価値観を考え、それらが互いにどのような影響を与えてきたかを検討する。焦点は神道や日本及び中国における仏教や儒教、道教に置く。
