・Develop reading comprehension skills to absorb current news in a broad, unbiased and critical manner
・Understand diverse social phenomena from multiple perspectives and review your opinions on the world
This course explores the history, role, and current landscape of mass communication, with an emphasis on understanding the role of news media in a civil society. Students will critically analyze news reports, considering the perspectives of both the news sender and the news receiver. Through discussions on current affairs, students will develop essential media literacy skills, enhancing their ability to interpret and evaluate news in a complex media environment.

・様々な社会事象を多面的に捉え、自らの世界観を相対化する

マス・コミュニケーションの役割と現状を学びつつ、市民社会に求められる報道メディアのあり方を考えます。ニュースを伝える側と受け取る側の双方の立場から、報道を読み解きます。実際に進行中の時事問題を題材に論議し、メディアリテラシーを養います。
