This course is an elective capstone course in the Department of Community Development. Under the supervision of faculty members, students identify and explore their own research interests, and compile the outcomes of their research and practical work into either a Seminar Paper or a Graduation Thesis.
The primary objective of this course is to enable students, based on an understanding of the realities of poverty and economic and life hardship, and the existing systems and policies addressing them, to develop evidence-based proposals for problem-solving. This will be achieved through the study of pioneering practices and research conducted overseas and by local governments and NPOs, as well as through literature reviews and fieldwork.
Formulation of a research theme based on a review of prior studies
Development of a research plan (including research objectives, methodology, and paper structure)
Conducting research based on literature reviews and fieldwork
Presentation, reporting, and discussion of the research process in seminar sessions
Writing and completion of the research paper
These activities will be carried out through seminar discussions and individual supervision on students’papers.

ゼミでの発表や報告などのための文献調査、レジュメの作成、発表の準備等が必要である。
研究テーマの設定や方法等のため、関連する論文や書籍の熟読、整理、分析等が求められる。
その他、履修登録完了後に「Canvas LMS」上で履修者に対して行う。
各回の予習・復習にはそれぞれ 2 時間以上を要する。

訪問先、特に貧困にある人や生活困窮者に対して、差別や失礼のない適切な対応
文献を熟読して、整理し、レジュメを作成し、それをゼミで報告、説明できる
フィールドワーク等でフォーマルなグループ活動や集団行動、対話、人間関係の構築ができる。
以上を踏まえて、学術的な論文に仕上げる。
論文執筆やクラスでの発表・報告等のためにパソコン等の活用が必要である。
フィールドワーク等は相手先の都合によって日程が変更や授業日以外になる可能性がある。
土日にフィールドに出る可能性もある。これらについては、履修学生と相談して決めていきたい。
フィールドワークについては交通費が必要になる場合がある。
授業への参加度によって評価されるので、欠席や遅刻等が多いと単位履修は難しくなります。
コミュニティ政策学科での学修の集大成となる選択科目である。各教員の指導の下、各自の問題関心を探究し，その研究・実践の成果を取りまとめ、「演習論文」または「卒業論文」を作成する。
本クラスの目標は、主に貧困や生活困難の実態と、それに対応する既存の制度・政策を踏まえたうえで、海外や自治体、NPOなどの先駆的な実践や調査研究、文献研究、フィールドワーク等を通して、根拠をもって、問題解決の方向性を提示できる。
