This course is an elective capstone course in the Department of Community Development. Under the supervision of faculty members, students identify and explore their own research interests, and compile the outcomes of their research and practical work into either a Seminar Paper or a Graduation Thesis.
Students will conduct interview-based field research on NPOs, cooperatives, and social enterprises engaged in community development across a range of social issue contexts, including youth support, support for people experiencing economic hardship, multicultural coexistence, and regional revitalization in depopulated areas. Based on this research, students will write either a seminar paper or a graduation thesis. During the spring semester, students will primarily engage in reading literature relevant to their individual research themes, and during the summer recess, they will conduct interview surveys and work on the writing of their thesis.
From the fall semester onward, students will engage in full-scale thesis writing. Drawing on the results of the interview research conducted during the summer recess, students will deepen their analysis by examining how the findings from their research to date can be interpreted, while continuing to conduct a literature survey. In addition, by presenting their work at academic conferences such as the Community Welfare Society Conference held in November, students will receive a range of feedback. Based on this feedback, a first draft deadline will be set for early December, by which time students will complete their seminar papers or graduation theses. Following a period of revision and refinement, students will submit the final version of their thesis in January.

ボランティア、NPO、協同組合、社会的企業、社会的連帯経済といった諸概念について慣れておくためには、ゼミ以外にも、ボランティアNPO論、コミュニティ開発論、社会的連帯経済論等の私の講義科目を履修しておくと良い。

これまでのヒアリング調査や3年次のゼミ論文を基盤にして、起承転結が明確でわかりやすい論文を書く能力が求められるが、基本的には、やる気と問題意識さえあれば、大丈夫！
コミュニティ政策学科での学修の集大成となる選択科目である。各教員の指導の下、各自の問題関心を探究し，その研究・実践の成果を取りまとめ、「演習論文」または「卒業論文」を作成する。
若者支援、生活困窮者支援、多文化共生、過疎地域における地域再生等、多様な社会問題の現場でコミュニティ開発を行っているNPO・協同組合・社会的企業についてヒアリング調査を実施し、それを元に演習論文、または卒業論文を執筆する。春学期には主として自らのテーマに即した文献を読み、夏季休暇中にヒアリング調査を実施して論文執筆に取り組む。

秋学期からは、いよいよ本格的に論文執筆に取り組む。夏季休暇中に実施したヒアリング調査の結果なども踏まえて、これまでの調査のファインディングスをどのように解釈することができるのか、引き続き文献サーベイも行いながら考察を深めていく。その上で、11月に開催されるコミュニティ福祉学会等で報告することを通して、様々なフィードバックをもらいつつ、12月上旬には論文の一次〆切を設けて演習論文や卒業論文を仕上げ、微調整を経て、1月には正式な論文を提出できるようにする。
