Currently, efforts are underway to shift or develop junior high and high school club activities from school-based to community-based educational activities. The nature of club activities is an issue that has a very significant impact on the relationship between school-aged children and sports. The students will acquire knowledge of the history of club activities, the characteristics of club activities as an educational system, the relationship between children's growth and club activities, changes in society and sports activities, reforms in teachers' work styles, and other issues related to club activities from a broad perspective. At the same time, we will nurture the ability to think about how club activities can be better in the future and to create new systems in relation to the growth of children.
The issue of club activities must be considered from a broad perspective, including sports and physical education, teachers and sports leaders, those who are not good at it and those who are, champion-oriented and recreation-oriented, sports clubs and clubs, economic disparities, spontaneity and compulsion, and so on. On the other hand, practical knowledge and execution skills are also required, such as specific teaching methods, technical instruction, management, and human relations. The aim of the program is to acquire the knowledge to live and work while basing it on active learning.

部活動に関して関心を高めておくこと
現在、中学校・高校の部活動を、学校主体の教育活動から地域主体の教育活動へと移行、あるいは展開する取り組みが進められている。部活動のあり方は、学齢期の子どもたちとスポーツの関係において大きな影響を及ぼす問題である。部活動の歴史や教育制度としての特徴、課題と可能性、子どもたちの成長と部活動の関係、社会変化とスポーツ活動の変化、教員の働き方改革など、部活動をめぐる問題を広い視野で捉える知識を身につけるとともに、子どもたちの成長との関係で、今後のより良い部活動のあり方を考えたり新しい仕組みを作ることのできる力を育む。

部活動の問題は、スポーツと体育、教員とスポーツ指導者、苦手な人と得意な人、チャンピオン志向とリクリエーション志向、スポーツクラブと部、経済的格差、自発性と強制性など、広い視野から考えることが求められる。一方で、具体的な指導の仕方、技術指導、マネージメント、人間関係など実践的な知識や遂行力も必要となる。アクティブラーニングを基本としつつ、生きて働く知識を身につけることをねらいとしたい。
