Students will develop a variety of skills and resources for gathering information on careers related to the field of Sport & Wellness. In addition, students will utilize multimedia resources to build company profiles that match their career path. This will provide students with a foundation and understanding of the skills needed for success in their future career. This content can then be shared in social media such as a biweekly blog/newsletter to educate classmates.
Through a survey of job opportunities for future graduates from the College of Sport and Wellness, students will identify the skills needed for future career success. In addition to developing English communication skills through discussions and presentations, students will build on the Character Strengths key to being successful in a global job market. Learn and apply the practice of mindful habits from a variety of cultures to achieve greater happiness and resilience to life change. Through these skills students can build a network of communication within the College of Sport and Wellness and beyond.
1 | Review scope and sequence of course. Survey key career sectors for the current Sport and Wellness students. Introduce the concept of character Strengths(CS). |
2 | Review guidelines for writing news articles. Students critique current work experience and identify their IKIGAI. Create Master List of career skills. Peer edit of blog #1 articles |

Students should have completed English Communication in Sport 1 and have achieved a grade "B" or higher in the class.
Alternatively, students need a documented English proficiency of greater than 5.5 IELTS or an equivalent.
