Upon completion of the course students will have developed a local and global understanding of current issues in sport. Students will utilize research skills and survey classmates both in and out of class to build an understanding of emerging issues within youth, amateur, and professional sport. This content will be shared in group discussion, and the analyzed data presented in oral and written form.
Students will survey a variety of literary resources to develop an understanding of current issues in the global sports culture. This research will target issues at three levels including youth, amateur and professional sport. In addition to a survey of the literature, students will administer questionnaires to build an understanding of current contemporary issues facing the student athlete.
